Do colors have the power to fascinate you?
Does the painting below by Vincent van Gogh appeal to you for its colors? What if we could free them from their form to capture their essence?

Chromagenesis, a process I invented, recomposes the colors of masterpieces to reveal their chromatic soul.
Capturing the Colored Soul of a Painting
I transform digital reproductions of artworks by reorganizing their colors based on hue, brightness, and saturation. Each image retains the same pixels as the original, but its composition shifts, offering a fresh perspective.
This process lies at the crossroads of generative art, traditional art, and technology.

Processes
How should the pixels of a painting be organized? Which properties should be used? I have developed unique protocols, blending precise adjustments with manual interventions to surprise or enchant.

Who Am I?
I am Vinciane Lacroix, an artist and scientist so passionate about color that I dedicated a blog to it. Through Chromagenesis, I explore the bridges between art, science, and technology. I introduce myself here and explain my artistic approach.
The digital reproductions of artworks and their chromageneses displayed on this site are resized and compressed for optimized web viewing.
